Historical notes

The company VILLA ERBICE dates back as far as 1870, when grandfather Narciso started producing wine.

The name VILLA ERBICE derives from the prestigious location of the company head office in an historically important seventeenth century villa. The Erbice family started producing excellent quality wines here, alwais made using grapes from their vineyards.

The company vineyards cover approximately 13 hectares, of which 1.40 are for Soave Superiore DOCG and the remainder for Valpolicella DOC, and are located in the municipality of Mezzane at an altitude of  between 250 m and 450 m above sea level.
Enviromentally friendly cultivation techniques are employed, favouring the use of natural pesticides such as copper and sulphur; furthermore, all steps in the production process are carried out by hand. The winery is organised in a traditional way with the fermentation of grapes on their skins in temperature controlled stainless steel vats; the wines are then aged in 225-litre French oak barriques.

Villa Erbice wines embody the spirit of the area and Silvio and Alberto's personalities. They are wines with a classic intense colourand sophisticated bouquet. They are well structured, especially in terms of tannins, and are suitable for long ageing.
